Dr. Jennifer McPherson-Jones is a proud alumna of the University of South Florida, where she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and English, with a minor in Dance. During her time at USF, she was an active member of the Herd of Thunder Marching Band and WGI Winterguard, while also performing professionally at Busch Gardens and directing several competitive colorguard programs.

Following graduation, Dr. McPherson-Jones danced with the Way of Life Dance Company and later joined the entertainment cast at Walt Disney World. Her performance credits include the Castle Show, Festival of the Lion King, Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade, and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade.

From 2009 to 2020, she served as Colorguard Caption Head at Freedom High School in South Riding, Virginia. Under her leadership, the program advanced to WGI A Class and consistently placed in the top three at regional competitions.

Currently, Dr. McPherson-Jones is the assistant director, choreographer, and dance technician for Mason Open. She holds both a Juris Doctor and a Ph.D. in International Government Affairs from Georgetown University Law Center, and actively practices law in Washington, D.C.
