Shelby Kolar joined The Green Machine Ensembles (GME) as Operations Manager in June 2026. Originally from Maryland, where she was born and raised, Shelby brings more than four years of experience in higher education administration and highlights the importance of organization, communication, and a positive work environment. She is excited to begin this new chapter in Virginia and contribute to the continued growth of The Green Machine Ensembles.
A lifelong performer, Shelby has been dancing since the age of three and recently completed her fifth season as a member of the Washington Commanders Command Force. Her passion for the arts led her to pursue dance-focused training throughout both high school and college. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Mercyhurst University with a minor in Business Administration and is a proud graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts. Today, she continues to teach, choreograph, and perform whenever possible.
During her time with the Command Force, Shelby had the unique opportunity to participate in military appreciation tours to Poland and South Korea, performing for service members overseas. She has also shared the stage with renowned artists including Wale and The Sugarhill Gang. These experiences allowed her to fulfill her dream of dancing professionally while developing a deep appreciation for the impact of the performing arts.
Throughout her career, Shelby has sought opportunities to combine her strengths in administration with her passion for the arts. Joining The Green Machine Ensembles represents the perfect intersection of those two worlds. She looks forward to supporting GME's mission, fostering meaningful experiences for students and performers, and contributing to the organization's continued success.
