GMU Indoor Drumline 2020-2021

09/03/2020
Season updates for GMU Indoor Drumline 2020-2021.
This year, due to COVID, the Green Machine Indoor Drumline (GMUID) has opted not to compete in the Drum Corps International and WGI Sport of the Arts annual indoor competition seasons.
Instead, they will be focusing on two initiatives this academic year. First, they will be offering a virtual technique program for students of any skill level based anywhere in the world! Basic, intermediate and advanced skills, in both front ensemble and battery, will be taught via a library of instructional videos created by the GMUID staff. Students will also be able to post videos of their own and receive feedback from the instructional staff. This program will run from September through December (rolling registration), and the videos will be made available for purchase afterward.
The second initiative will involve staff consultations. This program, designed for college students and independent marching ensembles, will involve GMUID staff members providing virtual consultation services in the areas of battery, front ensemble, visual, brass, design and administration. These services will be offered for free with the hope of elevating the GMUID in the indoor drumline community.
While we will not get to experience the normal competition season, we will still be present and involved in the community. For more information on the programs, please visit https://www.drumline.gmu.edu/.
