8th GM Regiment Band Ready to Go!

The Director, Dr. Chris Troiano, has been busy lining up performance opportunities for the band.

Dr. Chris Troiano, Director of the 8th GM Regiment Band, is busy planning a semester of activity for the group. They will kick off their performance season at the Arts Emerging Gala, sponsored by the College of Visual and Performing Arts, on September 25 at the university.

On October 23, the ensemble will perform at the annual Battle of Balls Bluff Anniversary. It is a day-long event with the concert beginning at 1:00 pm.

And finally, Dr. Troiano is planning an end of semester performance, in conjunction with the Patriots Fife and Drum Corps. Date and time will be announced once the event gets closer.

The ensemble is also participating in a video project with the Bull Run Civil War Round Table. It is being filmed at Farr’s Fort, the historical site at the corner of Ox and Braddock roads. The 8th GM Regiment Band will be supplying the music for the video while a member of the Round Table will give a guided tour. When the project is complete, we will be sure to share the video as this is a newly discovered site steeped in history right on university grounds!
